Alvina Lo, B.Sc., O.D
Dr. Alvina Lo received her education at the University of Waterloo, graduating with degrees in Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry. As part of her clinical training, she completed an internship in Atlanta, Georgia where she was trained under eye surgeons in the treatment and management of retinal diseases and glaucoma. She has volunteered her time in the past conducting children’s vision screening and provided eye exams in mobile vision clinics for the underprivileged.
Dr. Lo has been in practice for over 20 yrs in the Greater Toronto Area. She is honoured to have forged long-term relationships with her patients, and have their family and friends referred to our clinic. She practices all areas of primary care optometry with particular interest in myopia control, specialty contact lenses and refractive surgery co-management.
Dr. Lo is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and College of Optometrists of Ontario. She is certified to prescribe therapeutic pharmaceutical agents for medical management of eye disease.
In her spare time, she enjoys tennis, hiking, travelling and trying different types of cuisine in the city. She is fluent in English and Cantonese.
Dr. Amy Chow completed her Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) and her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) at the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry and Vision Science. Prior to her training as an optometrist and vision science researcher, she obtained her Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto in neuroscience and physiology. As part of her clinical training, Dr. Chow underwent an externship in ocular disease and therapeutics at the Eye Associates of Pinellas in Pinellas Park, Florida, where she trained under eye surgeons in managing complex ocular diseases including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and dry eye disease. Dr. Chow has received numerous teaching and research awards at the University of Waterloo.
Dr. Chow currently splits her time as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Waterloo conducting research as well as practising full scope primary care optometry in Toronto.
